Guided Tour of the Handel House Museum The London home of George Frederic Handel from 1723 until his death in 1759, this museum celebrates Handel's life and work. There is time to catch the first train which allows a cheap day ticket and have a cup of coffee in South Moulton Street before our tour starts. Places are limited to 30, so please book early - by May 11th at the latest. Tickets £7.00 available at the Museum. |

Visit to Shulbrede Priory The Priory, at Linchmere, Sussex, was founded in 1190 and became part of the Cowdray Estate on the dissolution of the monasteries and subsequently a private house. Our audiences have very much appreciated the high quality and diversity of the lectures so far this season which, up to the time of writing have included The Fulbrook Papers by Michael Edwards, From Jerusalem to Rome by Alan Bott and The Papermaker and the Prophetess by Alan Crocker. The enthusiasm and expertise of the lecturers and the knowledge they had to impart to us was impressive.
By the time you read this newsletter we will also have heard Nigel Pascoe's My Learned Friend and Trevor Kennea's Industry and Landscape in West Surrey. There will remain the last lecture of the series, details of which are given above. Don't miss it! Celia Forbes
